Maryland to get first stand-alone inpatient center for opioid detoxification
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - Maryland is getting a new tool in the fight against opioid addiction: a detox center, the first of its kind there.
State and federal leaders gathered in Linthicum Tuesday to break ground on the Maryland House Detox.
It will be the first stand-alone inpatient center for opioid detox in the state.
One Drug Enforcement Administration agent told FOX45 the center is needed now more than ever.
The center will have 16 beds.
The average inpatient treatment will be five to seven days.
Patients will be able to get round-the-clock care.
