MVA issues 270+ fraudulent driver's licenses to illegal immigrants
GLEN BURNIE, Md. (WBFF) - An audit of the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration has found the agency issued at least 270 fraudulent driver's license to illegal immigrants.
While undocumented immigrants can get limited driver's licenses in Maryland, they must provide proof of residence and proof they paid state income taxes.
The Office of Legislative Audits says the fraudulent licenses led to the firing of two MVA employees.
But the audit also found that agency has not taken all the proper steps to keep it from happening again.
FOX45 was not able to contact the MVA for a response Monday.
