TOWSON, Md. (WBFF) - Ollie's Bargain Outlet is planning to set up shop in the Towson Place shopping center - and is also eyeing a space in Owings Mills.
The discount store is set to open in late March in the space formerly occupied by Toys R Us, off of Putty Hill Avenue at Goucher Boulevard, confirmed Jerry Altland, vice-president of real estate for Ollie's.
Ollie's has been considering moving into vacant Toys R Us spaces ever since the giant toy retailer shut down last year.
With that in mind, Altland said Ollie's has also been looking into taking over the former Toys R Us space on Reisterstown Road in Owings Mills, next to the Bed Bath & Beyond.
Ollie's has five current sites in the Baltimore area, in Randallstown, Dundalk, Glen Burnie, Jessup and Aberdeen.
Each Ollie's store hires 45 to 55 employees. Ollie's is based in Harrisburg, Pa., and has 303 stores nationwide.
