Parents charged with death of 9-day-old son
BALTIMORE (WBFF)--Two Baltimore parents were charged Friday with multiple offenses, including neglect and child abuse that lead to the death of their 9-day-old son.
According to Baltimore City police, Anne Kirsch, 35 and Matthew Kirsch, 37, who live in the West Arlington neighborhood on Groveland Avenue near Eldorado Avenue, face charges in the homicide death of their son also names Matthew Kirsch earlier this month.
On October 20, police were called in response to a report of an unresponsive infant. He was taken to Sinai Hospital where doctors pronounced him deceased a short time after.
The Medical Examiner's Office ruled Matthew Kirsch's death a homicide by neglect and blunt force trauma. During the autopsy the medical examiner also noticed signs of malnutrition and dehydration.
Police are charging Matthew Kirsch and Anne Kirsch with murder, neglect, child abuse and other assault related charges.
Information on the parents bond is not available at this time. They are being held at the Baltimore City Central Booking and Intake Facility.
