WOODLAWN, Md. (WBFF) - A skateboarder is dead after being struck by a Baltimore County officer Thursday morning in Woodlawn.

Police have identified the victim as 31-year-old Brandon Michael Williams.

The incident happened at about 3:50 a.m., on Whitehead Road near Whitestone Road, said police.

Officials say, Officer D. Roussey was headed to a call for service, traveling south on Whitehead Road, when he hit the skateboarder, who was headed the wrong way on a skateboard.

Brandon's father told FOX45 through tears that his son was following the rules of the road and didn't understand why the officer didn't see him.

The family says, the father of two, was hit from behind.
