Baltimore police commissioner candidate talks about new position
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - The man who’s on track to become Baltimore’s fifth police commissioner in four years says he’s ready to get to work.
Michael Harrison will become acting police commissioner in Baltimore next month. His nomination must still be confirmed by the city council.
“This opportunity presented itself and, with some soul-searching and praying and talking with my wife and family, I was up for the challenge,” he said on Wednesday.
Harrison has become a reformer in New Orleans. During his tenure, the New Orleans’ homicide rate fell to its lowest level in fifty years.
