Mausean Carter, 30, ID'd as suspect who led police on lengthy pursuit in Baltimore

Baltimore City Police identify the suspect that led police on a lengthy pursuit that spanned parts of Baltimore City Friday.

Chief Spokesman, T. J. Smith announced Saturday morning, 30 year-old Mausean Vittorio Quran Carter has been charged in connection to the chase.

According to officials, Carter fled police and shot at officers and pedestrians during the chase before he was captured.

A pedestrian was hit in the leg and a motorist was shot in the upper body. The driver is hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. An officer who initially pulled the suspect over was shot at during the chase, but was apparently not hit.

Police say they believe the suspect is connected to a triple shooting Thursday night that killed one person.

Carter is charged with 1st degree murder, 2nd degree murder, reckless endangerment, attempted 1st degree murder, attempted 2nd degree murder, as well as, assaults and weapons charges.

According to police, he was denied bail.
