Police-involved shooting in downtown Baltimore, 2 of 3 suspects in custody
Baltimore City Police and the Special Investigation Response Team are investigating after an early morning officer-involved shooting.
Officials say around 3 a.m. , Citiwatch camera operators noticed at least three unknown males in the area of Park Ave at Clay Street.
The three males were observed hanging around outside of a vehicle, armed with handguns.
When crews responded to the area, the three suspects spotted police and fled in separate directions.
According to officials, one of the suspects ran into the 200 block of W. Mulberry Street where officers were able to confront him.
Police shot the 20-year-old suspect in the leg and recovered a loaded semi-automatic handgun, according to authorities.
The suspect was transported with non-life threatening injuries.
A second suspect was caught on a Citiwatch camera tossing a firearm into an alley dumpster.
That suspect, also a 20-year-old male, was arrested without further incident.
Police say, a loaded revolver was located in the dumpster.
Officials say a camera operator watched a third suspect run and toss a firearm into a dumpster in the 200 block of Clay Street.
According to authorities, a loaded revolver was recovered but the suspect got away.
No other suspects nor police were injured in this incident.
All seized firearms were collected and submitted as evidence.
