Police looking for suspect who tried to rob Sandy Spring Bank in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md- WBFF- Police say that they are looking for a suspect who attempted to rob a bank in Frederick, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to Frederick Police, at 2:38, officers responded to the Sandy Spring Bank on West Patrick Street, for a report of a bank alarm. When they arrived, patrol officers learned that this was an attempted bank robbery. The suspect reportedly went into the bank, approached the teller and demanded money.

The teller did not give the suspect any money and the suspect ran away. The suspect reportedly did not display a weapon and no one was injured. The suspect is described as a 5'7-5'10" black man who was dressed in all black clothing. This is an ongoing investigation and the Frederick Police Department is asking anyone with information to call Detective Forrest at 301-748-7122.
