POLICE: Man kills aunt & her boyfriend in East Baltimore home


    BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- Baltimore City Police announce the arrest of a man they say killed his aunt and her longtime boyfriend in an East Baltimore home on Monday.

    Officers were called to the house in the 1700 block of E. Federal St around 4:00pm for a shooting.

    Once there, they found 54-year-old Rona Brand and her longtime boyfriend 66-year-old Clyde Burrell, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head.

    At an afternoon news conference, police said Brand's nephew, Tavon Brand admitted to shooting the couple before taking police to the alleged murder.

    Police did not give a motive for the murders.

    They did say Brand was known to police, and had been arrested more than 20 times.

    Brand is being held at Central Booking without bail, he has a preliminary hearing set for May.
