Modern day Bonnie and Clyde couple captured after series of East Coast bank robberies

DELAWARE (WBFF)-- The so called modern day 'Bonnie and Clyde' couple wanted in connection to a series robberies on the east coast were arrested, police say.

Joseph and Jennie Carrier, both 37 who are suspected of robbing banks in Massachusetts, Maryland and Florida were arrested Monday afternoon by authorities in Pennsylvania after leading the police on a 100 mile chase.

The couple is wanted in connection to a robbery in Aberdeen, Md. on October 16, at the Bank of America in the Beards Hill Plaza Shopping Center.

Aberdeen police say the husband approached the teller demanding money. The teller gave the Carrier an undisclosed amount of money and left the bank in a dark colored vehicle.

Warrants were issued for the arrest of the Carrier's in Maryland.

The Carrier's had just robbed a bank in Delaware before they were spotted in the same stolen vehicle used in the other robberies by a Delaware State Trooper. A chase ensued down Interstate I-95 into Pennsylvania. Both individuals were taken into custody unharmed.
