Protesters blast closure of Franklin Square pediatric unit
ROSSVILLE, Md. (WBFF) - Community members and former staff protested MedStar's decision to close Franklin Square Medical Center's pediatric unit.
Former hospital workers say the decision was made last month with no warning.
They argue the closure will force parents to travel further to get care for their critically-ill infants and children.
MedStar administration says emergency pediatric services are being added to the main emergency department and say young patients will continue getting care at Franklin Square Medical Center.
