Restaurants join Md. Food Bank in fight to end hunger, with #SaveASeatMD campaign
BALTIMORE (WBFF) – The Maryland Food Bank’s 2017 ‘Save a Seat at Your Table’ campaign kicks off on Monday, leveraging restaurants across the state in the fight against hunger.
The campaign will run from Feb. 20-April 15.
Restaurants already enrolled to participate in the program include:
Alexander’s Tavern, Azure, Blue Pit BBQ, Blue Rooster Cafe, Bread and Butter Kitchen, Cafe Mezzanotte, Cardinal Tavern, Carrol’s Creek Cafe, Corner Charcuterie, Five and Dime Ale House, Fork & Wrench, Gordon Biersch (Baltimore), Gunther & Co., Joe Squared, Maggie’s Farm, Soul, THB Bagels & Deli, and Uncle’s Hawaiian Grindz, The Bayside Skillet, Evolution Craft Brewing Company & Public House, Hooked, and Touch of Italy.
Each restaurant will contribute in a different way; for instance, a portion of each sangria sale at Alexander's Tavern will benefit the Md. Food Bank, while THB Bagels & Deli is pledging a $1 donation for each purchase of a dozen bagels. CLICK HERE for a full list of restaurants and information on how they plan to contribute.
“We are thrilled to be working with so many great restaurants to help Save A Seat for Marylanders in need,” said Maryland Food Bank President & CEO Carmen Del Guercio. “These businesses understand the importance of not only bringing attention to the issue of hunger in our state, but actually doing something to end it, and we can’t thank them enough for helping us in our mission to do that.”
According to the Maryland Food Bank, approximately 760,000 Marylanders don’t have regular access to food and more than 247,000 Maryland children go to school hungry.
