Roland Park sign vandalized with "White Silence" graffiti
BALTIMORE (WBFF) - A message in graffiti plastered in Roland Park has created a stir.
FOX45's Kathleen Cairns reported that it was gone by Tuesday, but the message, reading "White Silence" was clearly visible on the sign announcing the entrance to the neighborhood.
Roland Park is one of Baltimore's oldest residential neighborhoods. It was established in 1891.
The graffiti showed up over the weekend.
It's not clear why, or what it could be specifically responding to.
Now another sign sits in front of the Roland Park sign that reads: "No matter where you are from, we're glad you're our neighbor."
Many residents hope that message is a better reflection of the community.
Some residents say the neighborhood has become more diverse in recent years and they are disappointed by the graffiti that was put here.
