Six people injured in crash in Ellicott City

HOWARD COUNTY, MD -- WBFF -- Howard County Police say that six people were injured in a single vehicle crash that happened in Ellicott City, on Sunday night.

According to authorities, at 7:46 p.m., a 2003 Toyota Corolla was traveling eastbound on Route 40 at Brocks Way, when it left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, 30-year-old Jose Segura of Catonsville, and a passenger, 24-year-old Margarita Rodriguez of Windsor Mill, were taken to Shock Trauma. They are in stable condition.

Four other passengers, 30-year-old Angelica Anez and three children, ages 13, 6 and 4, all of Windsor Mill, were transported to Howard County General Hospital for minor injuries. Police believe wet road conditions contributed to the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
