Maryland State Delegate Nino Mangione hosted a town hall Tuesday at Hereford High School preparing citizens to protect their rights in the fight against the Maryland Piedmont Reliability Project.

The 70-mile power line project has sparked outrage in all three counties it's slated to run through.

Mangione has been an outspoken critic of the project and wants residents to know their rights.

"Tonight I'm trying to arm the citizens with as much information as possible so they know and understand their private property rights," he said.

An attorney with Save Our Community was there to answer the many questions on concerned citizens minds.

Meanwhile, residents are calling on Governor Wes Moore to step in and speak up.

Moore has said he will wait to take a stance on the project until it goes before the state Public Service Commission which will ultimately decide on the project.

"The governor needs to get off the fence. He needs to join us in this fight opposing this project. We need his voice of opposition," said Mangione.
