Support rolling in for Reisterstown's banned football league
REISTERSTOWN, Md. (WBFF) - A Reisterstown youth football league that was banned from post-season play is receiving offers to play in other tournaments.
Parents with the Reisterstown Mustangs say their team has been invited to play in tournaments in four other states.
The Carroll County Youth Football League informed the Mustangs last week that they would not be allowed to play in post-season tournaments. Directors have cited behavioral concerns for the move.
However, the president of the mostly-black Mustangs suspect its racially motivated.
The team has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise money to travel to other tournaments.
“We just want the kids to have a happy ending and realize that all that practicing in 90-degree heat wasn’t for nothing,” said Mustangs President Marquita Melvin.
