BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Southwest Airlines Pilots Association (SWAPA) is conducting it's first ever multi-base picket today at BWI, and other airports around the country.
According to SWAPA, the picket is being held to demonstrate pilot's frustration with still not having contracts after 3 and a half years of negotiations.

After obtaining a 99% favor vote of a strike back in May, pilots of Southwest are ready to strike upon the release from the National Mediation Board, said SWAPA.
SWAPA reports they have been attempting to bargain with Southwest Airlines for more than 3 years, and even filing for federal mediation in 2022.
SWAPA President, Captain Casey Murray, comments " Southwest Airlines simply cannot afford to sit idly by while every other carrier continues to reward their pilots and lure them away with better contracts and benefits."
The other airports involved in the picket include Los Angeles International, Hartsfield Jackson International (Atlanta), Houston Hobby, and Chicago Midway.
