Threat by student investigated at Harford Technical High School

BEL AIR, Md. (WBFF) - UPDATE: Wednesday morning the Sheriff's office said their investigation into the the young man who the threats were attributed to showed that no direct threats were made.

Harford County law enforcement will step up patrols at Harford Technical High School in Bel Air on Wednesday after a threat was made by a student Tuesday.

The Harford County Sheriff's Office reported late Tuesday that officials learned earlier about "the possibility of a threat made by a student against Harford Technical High School."

The threats were determined to be unfounded, after police "thoroughly evaluated" the statements and interviewed the student and their family.

Nevertheless, "students can anticipate seeing an increased police presence tomorrow morning out of an abundance of caution," wrote the Sheriff's Office on social media.

"We thank everyone that called in information and encourage community members to continue to follow the advice of 'see something say something,'" said the Sheriff's Office.
