Three dead in apparent murder-suicide
Authorities are investigating a murder-suicide in Perry Hall that took the life of two children.
Baltimore County Police were called to Yvonne Avenue between Darleigh and Ebenezer Roads just after midnight for three people reported shot.
Upon arrival, police found one man and two boys with gunshot wounds to the head and upper body. Police identified the deceased as 47-year-old Julian Roary, 12-year-old Julian Roary Jr., and 10-year-old Ian Roary. Roary's girlfriend told police she thought she heard firecrackers and tried to locate Roary. After an unsuccessful attempt, she checked the upstairs bedroom where she found Roary and his two sons bloody and unresponsive. That's when she called police.
Police determined Roary shot his two sons before turning the gun on himself.
Roary and Julian Roary Jr. were pronounced dead at the scene. Ian Roary was pronounced dead at Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital Center.
Police say Roary recently lost his job and was struggling financially. He left a suicide note detailing his intentions.
