BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD -- WBFF -- Baltimore County Police say that they are continuing to investigate a domestic related murder suicide that happened at the Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville, on Friday.
According to authorities, just before 2:00 p.m., officers were called to a parking lot in the community in the 700 block of Maiden Choice Lane, for a shooting. There, they discovered the bodies of two community residents, both suffering from a single gunshot wound to the upper body.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say they learned the suspect, identified as 78-year-old Clifford Wilson Terry, wheeled his injured wife, 79-year-old Mary Kathleen Black Terry, out to their car in a wheelchair. Once there, he fatally shot his wife once in the upper body. He then turned the gun on himself.
The couple reportedly lived in the independent living area of the community and they were allowed to legally possess a firearm, which was recovered from the scene. Additional investigation will be conducted on the firearm, identified only as a revolver, but police confirm that the gun was not reported stolen.
The Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit is still trying to find a motive for the killings.
