VIGILANT | Retired officer helps look after his Perry Hall neighborhood

A retired Baltimore police officer shows off a gun he is allowed to carry, that he's keeping for his protection in Perry Hall

PERRY HALL, Md. (WBFF) - A Perry Hall resident who happened to be a retired Baltimore City police officer said he was staying vigilant after a killing of an officer in his own neighborhood.

"I've been through the back, checking on their houses. Suspects could be anywhere," he said.

He showed FOX45 a .40-caliber Glock handgun he is allowed to carry, pointing it out it is just for his own protection.

He also urged people to stay vigilant, noting there is a "heavy wooded area" near the site of the fatal incident.

"The way crime is coming out more and more in the county, you've got more and more people pay attention to the neighborhood," he said. "Daytime crime in the county is big."
