WINTER WEATHER|Warm Roads, Slushy Commute

    Roland Park Streets

BALTIMORE (WBFF)-- State and local highway officials are warning drivers to travel with an abundance of caution Wednesday, especially on elevated sections of highways (bridges, ramps and overpasses) which freeze first.

Mixed precipitation continues to fall throughout the state. Many area roads are too warm to see any accumulation, but pavement temperatures are hovering at the freezing mark in some areas.

Officials are reminding drivers to reduce speeds and increase driving distance and completely clean their vehicles.

City officials warned that slippery spots may exist and assured residents that Department Of Transportation crews are deployed and treating city streets.

The department reminded commuters to fully clean off their vehicles for safety reasons.

Children are expected to be on the roads throughout the morning commute. Baltimore City Public Schools are opening on time.
