What happens to packages destroyed by fire?
FREDERICK, Md. (WBFF) - A trailer full of packages went up in flames in Frederick just before midnight, at the Frederick Distribution Center on English Muffin Way.
The flames gutted the trailer, spread from the garage and burned 10 other trucks.
The trucks were empty, but packages inside the trailer were reduced to ash.
FOX45's Kathleen Cairns explained what happens if your package was among those lost in the fire.
UPS notifies the shipper of the package, not the person it's going to.
The shipper will need to give UPS documentation.
Once approved, they will be paid in three to five business days.
