BALTIMORE (WBFF) - The widow whose husband was gunned down inside the Dollar General store 1 1/2 years ago has slapped the Edmondson Village Shopping Center with a lawsuit.
Kathleen Ford accuses the shopping center of negligence by failing to provide adequate security.
The southwest Baltimore shopping center has been the scene of several acts of violence over the past years.
In August 2017, Deric Ford, who was the manager at the Dollar General Store, was shot and killed shortly before closing.
“He did complain about security around that store,” said Kathleen Ford after filing the lawsuit on Tuesday.
“Places like this, that don’t have adequate securities, are a forum and petri dish for criminals to come onto and commit their crimes,” said attorney Michael Belsky.
Owners of the shopping center have yet to comment on the lawsuit.
