Woman, boy injured after car collides with rail train in Maryland, police say

A woman and boy were injured after a car collided with a light rail train in Glen Burnie, Md.  Friday, Oct. 13, 2017 (SkyTrak7) 

A woman and boy were injured after their car collided with an MTA light rail train Friday morning in Glen Burnie, Maryland.

Police say the woman sustained critical life-threatening injuries and was taken to University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center for treatment. The woman, who was driving, was removed after she was trapped in the vehicle for 15 minutes.

The 12-year-old boy suffered serious non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Johns Hopkins Children's Center in Baltimore, Maryland.

Police say the accident occurred on Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard and Ferndale Road, and roads are currently closed between Interstate-97 southbound and Wellham Avenue.
